Therapy Center Etiquette

Please be mindful
The center is a designated Quiet Zone. We ask that you turn off your cell phones and pagers. If you must talk on the phone, please use our lovely courtyard outside. Relax and enjoy!

Chemical-free environment
Please be aware that many of the therapists and clientele have environmental allergies. Often chemicals associated with strong scents and smells can trigger such allergic reactions. Therefore, we ask you to be free of colognes and scented lotions during your treatments. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and contributes to the comfort of all.

Arrival Time
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. This allows us, the necessary time, to properly check you in and provide you with a relaxing experience.

Late Arrivals
For those who arrive late, please understand your session will be shortened in order to accommodate the therapist and next client. Those arriving 15 or more minutes late: will have the option of re-booking your originally reserved time.

Cancellation Policy
To respect and value our professional therapists, any cancellation of service requires at least a 24-hour notice. Cancellations made with less than 24-hours notice, will be charged half the price of that service.

No-Show Policy
For those who do not call or show up for a scheduled appointment – the full price of that service will be charged.

Payment
We accept checks and credit cards at the time of service. We cannot provide cash on any transactions. Gratuities maybe included in payment.

Gift Certificates
Gift certificates are available for all acupuncture treatments, massage therapies, and products. You are welcome to stop in and pick up certificates during regular business hours.

Children
The primary purpose of this center is to provide a quiet and calming environment focused on individual care. While we love our children – we are not equipped to care for them at the center. Please be understanding of others and arrange for the private care of your children. Remember, this a Quiet Zone.

Treatment for Children 18 years and under
For children 18 years and younger – special arrangements must be made in advance and therapies must carry a written consent of a parent. Please notify us when scheduling an appointment, if this session involves a child 18 years or younger.

When you arrive
Please arrive at a-z Therapy Center 15 minutes prior to your appointment. You will be asked to fill out an intake form for all acupuncture or therapeutic massage sessions. For your best care and protection, it is important that we as healthcare professionals have an accurate and current health assessment in order to proceed with a treatment. Your personal information is protected and confidential. We abide by and are governed by the state HIPPA laws, which are designed to protect your privacy.

Your professional therapist/acupuncturist will accompany you to one of our six private treatment rooms where you spend a few minutes reviewing your intake information. The therapy sessions include the ever-so important assessment time, combined with the treatment time.

What To Expect from Acupuncture Treatments

Your first acupuncture visit includes an assessment in which you and your practitioner discuss your health, lifestyle, and behaviors. Based on the assessment, your practitioner develops the appropriate treatment specific to your unique needs and condition. Be sure to inform the acupuncturist of all treatments, medications, and all medical conditions that pertain to you. With your full agreement, the practitioner will proceed with a recommended treatment plan for you. Treatments vary by person and can take place over a period of several weeks or more, to achieve optimal improvement and value.

What To Expect from Therapeutic Massage Treatments

First, you and your therapist discuss your intake form and the state of your condition and wellbeing. This allows the therapist to personalize the treatment to your best outcome. You can choose to use the therapy for pure relaxation and de-stressing, or to work on specific areas of need. The experience varies by person and can vary from visit to visit, based on your overall health and situation. The experience is relaxing and therapeutic for body and mind.

You will be asked to undress to your own level of comfort, as your therapist steps out of the treatment room. As professionals, they are respectful and sensitive to providing a comfortable environment for you.
